Michelle Plett Art

Michelle Plett
Picture
Born and raised in Northern Saskatchewan, her interest in botanicals was nurtured from a young age and is passionately reflected in Michelle’s current art practice.
Painting with encaustic (beeswax) allows her the versatility to explore her botanical intrigue with a unique and modern approach using a traditional medium.

In its simplest form, encaustic is painting with molten beeswax applied and fused in several layers, resulting in art that possesses a beautifully tactile and luminous transluscency. Michelle finds creating with this organic medium to be physically engaging and immensely sensory.

Her sincere hope is that her art will help to bring to life for you some of what she cherishes about the miraculous botanical beauty that surrounds us every day.

Michelle has pursued her interest in painting with encaustic through intensive workshops in Seattle, Sacramento, Minneapolis, and various online learning opportunities. Since her first public release of her work in 2018, her art has been well received with collectors extending all across North America.

She currently has gallery representation at Dervilia Art & Design in Saskatoon, SK.
