I was born in B.C. and raised on a dairy farm near Mullingar Sk. After graduation from Mayfair Central High, I followed my dreams and a young man to Calgary, where I lived until returning “home” in 2008. I keep busy with a large garden and a small flock of sheep.
I have been passionate about drawing and painting, ever since I could be trusted not to eat the crayons. I have the time now to indulge this passion. The vibrant landscapes I have been creating in Alcohol Ink reflect the rural area in which I live.
My artwork is about treating yourself to a deep breath of fresh air; about immersing yourself in the smell of pines, damp earth, ripening berries and fresh mown hay. It is about the sun warming your back and the breeze caressing your cheek; about hearing the loons’ call on the lake, rodents rustling in the underbrush.
It is about wading in the shallows, chasing minnows, laying on our backs, listening to the insects while building castles in the clouds. It is about living in the moment and feeling the tension drain from our shoulders; it is about relieving stress.
Select one piece to hang in your homes entry. Ten seconds upon arrival, immersed in the painting, will relieve stress and lead to better personal relationships. Select a second one to hang in the bedroom. Again, 10 seconds immersed in the painting before laying down will vastly improve your sleep. Hang one where ever you find you need to de-stress, example: the boardroom at work, over your partners’ desk, just within your office door. Use 2 or 3 times per day as needed to relieve stress
